This tracker pulls every merchant cash advance court case discussed in our published funder lawsuit notes into one sortable table. It is built for merchants trying to read a caption they just received, attorneys looking for a quick citation, and journalists who need a starting list of public records. Each row links back to the note where we walk through that record in more detail.

Quick stats
- 64 cases across 27 funders
- 18 distinct courts named, and every row now names its court
- Years covered: 2016 to 2026
- Sourced from 27 published lawsuit notes
Rows are sorted by funder A to Z, then by year, newest first. Year is the decision or filing year as stated on our note. Where our note does not state a detail, the cell says so rather than guessing.
How to use this table
Rows are sorted by funder name, then by year with the newest first. The table is long, so the fastest way to narrow it is your browser's find tool (Ctrl+F on Windows, Cmd+F on a Mac). Type a funder name, a county, or a court like "App Div" and jump straight to the matching rows.
A few terms come up again and again. A confession of judgment (COJ) is a signed document that lets a funder enter a judgment without a lawsuit on the merits; our confession of judgment guide explains what that means for you. Many rows turn on a usury defense, also called the "loan vs. purchase of receivables" question: if a court treats the deal as a loan instead of a true sale of future receivables, usury limits can apply. Courts often look at whether the contract has a working reconciliation clause, and our MCA lawsuit guide walks through the rest.
Citations marked (U) are unreported slip opinions, usually trial-level decisions that are not printed in the official reports. If you were just served, start with the first 30 days after an MCA lawsuit. Most funder suits in this table are pleaded as breach of contract claims, and our guide to MCA breach of contract lawsuits explains what the funder has to prove and where merchants have pushed back.

How we built this
Sources. Every row comes from one of our published funder lawsuit notes under /news. Those notes rely on published appellate and trial opinions and court dockets as cited on each linked note, mostly the New York Courts official reporter (nycourts.gov), plus agency materials (FTC, NY Attorney General) for the two enforcement tracks. We did not add anything that is not already on our notes. On 2026-10-30 we checked seven rows against public records and filled in the court or outcome where the record confirmed it: Holy City Collision, Tawa Roti Dhaulagiri Food, Essential Foundations, and Arecosta against the NY Courts reporter (nycourts.gov) slip opinions; EBF Holdings v. Dechoker against the CourtListener and PacerMonitor docket pages; and FTC v. Yellowstone against the CourtListener docket. The matching lawsuit notes were updated the same day.
Last updated: 2026-10-30.
What this does not establish. The table records what each cited opinion or docket shows, and nothing more. It makes no claims about any funder beyond that record. Many of these opinions are procedural (a summary judgment denial, a stay ruling, a confirmed award) and do not decide whether a given agreement is lawful. One merchant's result does not predict yours. This is not legal advice; talk to a licensed attorney about your own papers and deadlines.
Outcome column. Outcomes are one-line summaries of what our note says the record shows. Where our note does not pin down the result, the cell would read "See opinion." As of this update, no row needs that placeholder.
